The organisation began with Rainbow Coffee Mornings, a simple idea designed to bring people together as we realised that Hull didn’t offer LGBTQIA+ people the same as other big cities like London, Manchester or York.
There was no expectation to perform, explain or justify who you were. People could attend on their own, bring a friend or simply sit with a coffee and listen until they felt comfortable joining in.
Those first conversations demonstrated something important.
People weren’t just looking for activities.
They were looking for connection.
As friendships grew, so did the ambition to create more opportunities for people to meet, socialise, celebrate and support one another.
Rainbow Coffee Mornings became more than a monthly event.
It became the foundation of a growing community.
